The Tenacious Salmon

The Consilia Talent Show series continues with a new episode: “The Tenacious Salmon”. This time, thin salmon slices take on a small aquatic challenge, riding against the current of water slides to reach their final destination: gently landing on a slice of bread, on a small plate, to complete a simple and tasty composition.
As with every chapter in the series, achieving a believable, appetizing food look was essential. The realistic rendering of the salmon required testing and experimentation before we identified the most effective build solution in terms of texture, color, and photogenic quality.
What makes this episode especially distinctive is the material research behind it. It gave us the opportunity to experiment with a new way of simulating water in stop motion: a transparent gel that proved highly photogenic and perfectly suited to creating the illusion of flow while keeping full control on set.
The main challenge was practical. Because the material is extremely soft, it couldn’t hold its shape for long pauses. To preserve continuity, we had to minimize the time between each pose and the next frame, working at a tight pace with precise handling.
Despite the complexity, the final result was a welcome surprise: an episode where material becomes motion, and stop motion once again makes the impossible feel tangible.

The Fit Plums

In the latest episode of the Consilia Talent Show series, the spotlight goes to “The Fit Plums”: a close-knit team of gymnasts led by a plum “coach.” They perform a sequence of exercises and then, one by one, dive into the pack in a synchronized routine.
As with every chapter in the series, the characters retain a realistic, product-rooted look, brought to life through frame-by-frame stop motion. What gives these plums their unique personality is a set of small prop details, headbands and the coach’s whistle, that, together with the music choice, evoke a playful vintage athletic vibe.
The result is a light, rhythmic episode where precise animation meets clean choreography, reinforcing the consistent and instantly recognizable identity of the Talent Show series.
